Dr. Kenneth H. Zygmunt
Dr. Zygmunt has lived in the Chicagoland area all his life. He graduated with a B.S. degree in Biology from DePaul University and earned his D.P.M. as a summa cum laude graduate in 1981 from the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his specialized training in foot and ankle surgery at the University of Chicago Medical Center, which included an intensive three-year surgical residency.
He has instructed aspiring foot and ankle specialists throughout his career, initially at the University of Chicago Medical Center as clinical assistant professor of surgery. Currently he instructs residents from Mount Sinai Hospital and Medical Center in their post-graduate training program.
He has made media appearances and is a renowned guest speaker and author. His contributions (including his own groundbreaking procedure, the Z-Bunionectomy, which is an outpatient procedure for the correction of bunions) to the advancement of podiatry are well known in the profession. He was Editor of Podiatry Tracts, a journal that keeps professionals abreast of current topics relating to foot and ankle care. He has served on the credentials committee and has been an oral examiner for the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
He is on staff at Good Samaritan Hospital, Hinsdale Hospital, Rush-Copley Medical Center and several ambulatory surgical centers in the western suburbs.
Dr. Zygmunt's commitment to the betterment of his profession is surpassed only by his zeal for the well-being of his patients.
